Why Choose My Horizons Kindergarten in Khmelnytskyi?

The My Horizons kindergarten is the first pre-school in Khmelnytskyi and the region based on Christian values. We have been working since 2015 and sincerely believe that love, respect, and care are the basis of the education of a small personality.

Today, we operate two institutions — My Horizons and My Horizons KinderLee, which are under the patronage of the Khmelnytskyi Spiritual Council. Here children learn, communicate and grow in love and support. We are happy to be part of this journey with your family.

Our team of experienced professionals

My Horizons employs a large team of qualified staff with various specialisations:

  • educators with pedagogical education
  • speech therapists
  • psychologists
  • specialists in early development;
  • music directors;
  • foreign language teachers;
  • physical education instructors;
  • leaders of creative clubs (choreography, drawing, vocal).

Each specialist has the appropriate education and years of experience. Thanks to the diversity of specialists, we create an environment where all aspects of a child’s personality develop harmoniously: from intellectual to creative and social.

Age groups and effective daily routine

Our pre-school in Khmelnytskyi takes into account the peculiarities of children’s development at each stage, so the groups are divided into age categories:

  1. For the smallest (1.6-2 years), a special group ‘Step by step’ has been created.
  2. Younger groups (3-4 years old) are aimed at developing basic skills and communication.
  3. Middle groups (4-5 years old) prepare children for more complex tasks.
  4. The older ones (5-6 years old) focus on preparing for school.

The programme combines learning, active walks, creative activities, time for games and recreation. A balanced routine promotes the physical, emotional and intellectual development of children.

We understand how important it is for parents to find a solution that meets their needs and capabilities. To help each family find a convenient format and get the most out of their child’s development, we offer several packages:

A speech therapist works on speech development, forming correct pronunciation and expanding the vocabulary of children.

Individual approach to each child

We believe that every child is a unique individual with his or her own interests, character and pace of development. That is why our approach to education is based on understanding the individual needs of each child. We closely observe children, help them discover their strengths, and support them in the areas that need development.

Implementation of the latest programmes and innovative technologies

The educational process is designed to ensure that children not only acquire knowledge but also feel a genuine interest in learning. Thanks to interactive equipment, multimedia materials and modern methods, children learn through games, experiments and creative tasks.

Innovative approaches allow us to find an approach to each child, supporting their curiosity and love of learning. Such learning is not only fun, but also develops important skills, including critical thinking, imagination and teamwork.

Modern high-tech space

Every detail in our kindergarten in Khmelnytskyi is aimed at making children feel comfortable, free to move, play and interact with others. Thanks to the technological equipment, children not only learn through play, but also develop their skills in working with modern devices. We believe that a comfortable environment helps children to adapt to kindergarten more easily, stimulates their curiosity and motivates them to explore the world with joy and enthusiasm.

At My Horizons, we pay special attention to the spiritual development of children. Our education is based on Christian values such as love, respect, kindness and mutual understanding. We teach children to be sensitive to others, to help their peers, to value friendship and justice. We invite your family to join our big family at My Horizons in Khmelnytskyi. Let’s raise children together in the spirit of love, kindness and Christian values.

Cambridge YLT International Exam Preparation Course at My Horizons

This year, the My Horizons Lyceum has launched a course to prepare for the Cambridge Young Learners Test (Cambridge YLT) A1 Movers exam. Students in grades 3-5 work diligently twice a week after school to improve their speaking skills. In the classroom, children learn to:

  • understand basic instructions;
  • participate in dialogic communication;
  • recognise the speech of native speakers through listening tasks;
  • work with texts.

Why choose the A1 Movers exam?

  • This is an exam after which each child receives a certificate to celebrate their achievements.
  • The exam tasks are based on realistic situations from everyday life.
  • The tasks are presented in both British and American English.

What benefits will a child get after completing this learning path?

  • A specific goal appears, which motivates them to work harder at their studies.
  • Parents always know what level of English their child is at.
  • The development of language skills is harmonious, covering all aspects — from reading to speaking practice.
  • Successful completion of the exam increases self-confidence.
  • The certificate is recognised worldwide and has no expiry date.
  • The Cambridge English certificate will prepare your child for an international environment where knowledge of English is essential for success in various spheres of life.

Classes are taught by a certified teacher (TKT Module 1) — Yulia Shpak.

How to Prepare a Child for Kindergarten: Tips from My Horizons

The first day of kindergarten is a whole new world for a child and an important step for parents. For the child, it is not just a change of environment, but an introduction to a new rhythm of life, people, and rules. For you, as a parent, this is the moment when you have to trust someone else to take care of your greatest asset.

But don’t worry! Adaptation can be easy if you prepare in advance. At My Horizons, we know how it is, and we want to share some simple tips to help make the transition to kindergarten a calm and joyful one for the entire family.

Preparing psychologically: child and parents

Adaptation to kindergarten begins with parents. Your confidence and calmness help your child to accept changes more easily. Talk to your child about the kindergarten in a positive way, describing it as a place where they will find friends and have fun. Avoid complicated explanations — everything should be simple and clear. To prepare, you can play a game: imagine together how the child enters the kindergarten, meets the teacher and sits down to play with other children.

Create a routine in advance

To make it easier for your child to adapt, start gradually changing the routine at home. Determine the time for sleeping, getting up, eating and going for walks that coincide with the schedule in the kindergarten. Prepare your child for activities in the morning in advance. Do not make sudden changes: adaptation to the new schedule should be gradual. This will help your child get used to the structured day and make him or her feel more comfortable in the kindergarten.

Teaching basic skills

Before going to kindergarten, it is useful to teach your child simple things: how to wash their hands, eat with a spoon or put on a hat. This will help your child feel more confident and independent. Don’t criticise if something doesn’t go well, rather praise even small progress. Don’t worry if something doesn’t work out perfectly yet, the educators at My Horizons are always ready to help. The main thing is to support your child by encouraging his or her efforts, not just the result.

Get to know the team and the space

If possible, visit the kindergarten with your child before school starts. Show him or her the playroom, the playground, and introduce him or her to the teacher. This will help your child feel more confident and reduce their fear of the unfamiliar. At My Horizons, we are always happy to welcome guests so that each child can gradually get used to the new environment.

The importance of support in the first month

The first month in kindergarten is a new and important stage that can be difficult for both the child and the parents. During this period, the child learns to be a part of the team, gets used to new rules, gets to know the teachers and children. But the biggest challenge is adapting to separation from parents. Your support during this time is key to making your child feel safe and accustomed to the new environment.

To make this process gentle and comfortable:

  • leave your child for a short time at first, gradually increasing the length of stay in the kindergarten;
  • talk to your child about his/her day, ask about his/her impressions and feelings;
  • always say when you will return and be on time;
  • If your child is upset, acknowledge their feelings and reassure them;
  • create positive rituals, such as a special goodbye in the morning or a small ritual of meeting after kindergarten.

At My Horizons, we pay special attention to adaptation. Teachers work with each child individually, support them in exciting moments, and encourage friendly communication. Children gradually get involved in group activities, get to know others and start to enjoy their time in the kindergarten. Care, understanding and love are our main tools for a successful start.

Certification of teachers

Certification of teachers is an external assessment of a teacher’s professional competencies, including pedagogy and psychology, and practical skills in applying modern teaching methods and technologies.

In 2024, 4 teachers of the Khmelnytsky Private Lyceum “My Horizons” successfully passed all stages of certification: Kateryna Kryshchuk, a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature; Iryna Stepanyshyna, a primary school teacher; Khrystyna Shvets and Ihor Uspenskyi, teachers of history and civic education.

Kryshchuk Kateryna Viktorivna

Stepanyshyna Iryna Leonidivna

Ihor Valentynovych Uspenskyi

Shvets Khrystyna Pavlivna

For the first time in the history of teacher certification, a professional competition for history and civic education teachers was held in 2024. Among the 20 participants represented in Khmelnytskyi region, 4 were from the city of Khmelnytskyi, and 2 of them were teachers of history and civic education at the My Horizons Lyceum. Shvets Khrystyna Pavlivna is a teacher of history and civic education who received the maximum number of points 125 out of 125 possible.
Lyceum “My Horizons” is a place of professional growth for teachers!

How to Assess a Kindergarten During a Visit?

You want to find a place where your baby will feel comfortable, where he or she will play, develop and just feel happy. But how do you know that this is ‘the right place’?

It is true that no photos on the website or beautiful phrases in a brochure will tell you as much as a regular visit. During such a visit, you can see how everything works from the inside, talk to the educators and even re-enact your child’s day in this kindergarten.

To help you not to get confused and not to miss anything, we have prepared a simple and convenient checklist. With it, you will definitely notice all the important details and understand whether this kindergarten is right for your child. Are you ready? Let’s get started!

The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff

The first minutes in the kindergarten will tell you a lot. Pay attention to how you are greeted: whether the teachers are friendly and easy to communicate with. The atmosphere should be warm and open to make you feel comfortable. But most importantly, look at the child’s reaction. If he or she looks around with interest and feels relaxed, this is a good sign.

Infrastructure and safety: what to look for

Take a closer look at the groups: is the furniture comfortable, is there space for games and activities? Play areas should be safe both indoors and outdoors. Ask how the area is guarded: it may be by entrance control or cameras. Your sense of security is extremely important, because this is where your child will spend a significant part of the day.

Educational programme and approach to development

Find out what methods are used in the kindergarten. It can be author’s programmes, interactive technologies or creative approaches. Classes should be age-appropriate, and the programme should support harmonious development. Do they offer clubs, such as choreography or English, and do teachers adapt to the needs of each child?

Cleanliness and hygiene

The condition of the premises speaks volumes. Pay attention to the group rooms, toilets and dining rooms. Is it clean and is there regular cleaning? In modern conditions, the use of sanitizers and compliance with sanitary standards are also important. It is important for kids to be in a clean and tidy environment.

Nutrition

The menu should be balanced and healthy. Ask if allergies or dietary needs are taken into account. It is important that the food is of high quality and the meals are varied. If possible, look at a sample menu. This will help you assess whether the food meets your requirements.

Staff qualifications

Teachers are the heart of any kindergarten. Find out about their education, experience and whether they are speech therapists or psychologists. It is important that the staff is constantly improving through courses or trainings. This is a guarantee that they use modern approaches in working with children.

My Horizons employs a team of professionals who create a warm and caring atmosphere for children every day. The facility has speech therapists and psychologists who provide advice and assistance to support the harmonious development of children. All educators regularly take advanced training courses, master new techniques and use modern innovative approaches in their work.

Additional services

Are there any talent development clubs in the kindergarten? Maybe it’s singing, drawing or sports. Ask how they organise holidays and whether parents are invited to see their children’s performances. Such additional activities help your child feel part of a friendly team.

Trust your heart to make a choice

The best kindergarten is the one where you feel in your heart that your child will be happy, safe and in caring hands. No checklist or advice can replace your intuition, so trust your feelings and watch your child’s reaction.

If you are looking for a place that meets all the points on our list, visit My Horizons. Our environment is created for harmonious development and happy childhood. The doors of the kindergarten are always open to you, and we will be happy to show you how every child is taken care of here.
