And we want to give our children the best possible armor: knowledge, self-confidence, the ability to make friends, stand up for themselves, dream and achieve. And the lion’s share of this “armor” is formed precisely at school. Therefore, choosing a school is one of the most important decisions that affects the entire future of a family.

Debunking the main myth about “good” schools
There is a widespread opinion, almost a stereotype, that parents have to choose. Or you send your child to a school where there is a warm, friendly atmosphere, where they are loved and respected as a person, but, perhaps, they are not so “chasing” the program. Or you choose a “strong” school, a real conveyor belt for preparing for NMT, where the main thing is the result, and the emotional state of the child is something secondary. It seems that these are mutually exclusive things.
We at the “My Horizons” Lyceum are convinced that this is a false dilemma. Moreover, it is a dangerous myth. When graduates of our Lyceum are asked why they chose us, the first thing you can hear in response: “they are loved and supported here.” And these are not just beautiful words. This is the basis of our philosophy. We believe that a child who feels safe, respected, listened to, who is not afraid to ask questions and make mistakes is a child who is open to knowledge. An atmosphere of love and respect is not an alternative to academic success. It is their most powerful catalyst.
In 2024, according to the results of the National Secondary School Examination, the Khmelnytskyi Private Lyceum “My Horizons” took 8th place among 35 schools in the city.

Every father or mother carries in their heart a whole list of anxious questions “What if…?”. Let’s go through the most common of them and see what answers our lyceum gives to them.
“What if my child is not noticed in a large class?”
Of course, when there are 35+ students in a class, even the best teacher physically cannot pay attention to everyone. But our classes have only 18-20 children. This means that each student is in plain sight. The teacher knows his strengths and weaknesses, his character, his mood.
“What if she will be lonely or offended?”
Safety is not only about solid walls. It is, first of all, about psychological comfort. An atmosphere of goodwill and mutual respect grows out of our fundamental values, based on Christian morality. This means that respect for others, compassion, honesty and kindness are the DNA of our school family.
“What if her interests are not only mathematics and language?”
We are convinced that each child is a whole universe of talents. And the school’s task is to help them discover and develop them. Therefore, private education in our understanding is much more than just an academic program. We offer a wide range of clubs and studios based on interests: from music and art to sports and modern technologies.
